The department of Physical Education & sports was established in 1963. Physical education-is an integral part of the educational programme designed to promote the optimum development of an individual. It makes one emotionally, mentally and physically strong. The primary aim of physical education have varied, based on the needs of the time and place. Sport is commonly defined as an organized, competitive and skillful physical activity requiring commitment and fair play.
No education would be complete without the Physical Education. SJCE has provided equal opportunities in sports too. The students have not only excelled in academics but also in Sports. SJCE has provided the necessary infrastructure to Sports and Physical Education Department. The total 49461 Sq. Mtr sprawling campus has the following facilities:

Javagal Srinath is a former Indian cricketer who recently retired from international cricket after serving the Indian cricket team with his outstanding bowling. Javagal Srinath was born on 31st August, 1969 in Mysore, Karnataka . He completed his education from Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE), Mysore, obtaining a B.E. Degree from Mysore University.

Pursued  Electronics and Communication (E&C) Engineering at SJCE by gaining admission to this college under the sports quota in the year 2008. Her notable achievements in roller skating in the span of final year (2006 to 2010) includes two Bronze Medals at the 14th Asian Roller Sports Championship held at Taiwan July, 2010. She also participated in the XVI Asian games (In the roller skating discipline) held at Guangzhou, China from 12th to 27th November, 2010. She participated in the 13th Asian Roller Sports Championship held at Gaining China in October 2008. She has been continuously representing the Karnataka state since 2000. At the 43rd National Roller Skating Championship – 2006, She Won 3 gold Medals and was the individual champion at the successive national Roller Skating championship also she had won many medals. Considering her achievements in the field of Roller Skating she had selected for the “Ekalavya Award for the year 2010”.

Completed Electronic and Communication (E&C) Engineering at SJCE. She participated in the following tourneys:

  • 48th National Level Roller Skating Championship 2011 & she Secured 02 Gold Medals
    & 03 Silver Medals.
  • 49th National Speed Skating Championship held at Bangalore, from 24th to 28th January, 2012 in the senior women category and she won the following medals.
  • Road Race 5000 Mtr Gold Medal.
  • Rink Race IV 500 Mtr Bronze Medal.
  • Track Relay 3X 1000 Mtr Gold Medal.
  • 50th Senior National Roller Skating Championship held at Noida (Near Delhi), Uttar Pradesh Skating Quad & Inline event was held from 21st to 25th January 2013 at Virar (Near Mumbai), Maharashtra. She won the in the senior / Junior Relay (Inline) Gold Medal. And Rink IV (Inline) Bronze Medal.

is a National level Golf Player and was ranked 7th in the Country during 2012-13. He has represented the country in many international level tournament.

Studied in the E&I Branch. He participated in State level Karnataka State Rifle Association (KSRA) Bengaluru from 23-07-2015 to 26-07-2015 in the senior & junior level and won the following medals.

In National Level Tournament held at South Zone Kerala from 22-10-2015 to 26-10-2015. He Secured the following medals and he qualified for the Pre-National Level held at Kolkata from 30- 10-2015 to 07-11-2015.

Studied Computer Science at SJCE. He participated in the All India Kick Boxing Federation Cup-2014 Haryana Kurukshetra from 13-02-2014 to 17-02-2014 under (65Kg category) He secured the Gold Medal.

Studying in the 6th Sem. Civil Branch. He Participated in WAKO INDIA National kick boxing championship, held at Raipur, Chattisgar, from 6th to 10th September 2017. He Secured the GOLD medal in “kick light” event, senior category ’-74kg” weight.
