The Department of Mechanical Engineering is consistent in improvement of its academic, research and placement performance. The Department offers BE in Mechanical Engineering with an intake of 120 students and M Tech in Maintenance Engineering with an intake of 12 students. It also offers two research programs, M.Sc.(Engg) and Ph.D.

The curricula of both BE and M Tech are constantly updated to meet the requirements of the industries. The curriculum is taught by well qualified and experienced faculty with dedication and commitment. The students of the department have a good placement record.

The students are encouraged to get hands-on experience and appreciate the theoretical and practical knowledge gained by them being used in the industries during the internship/industrial training which they undergo for a duration of 4 weeks.

Students undertake project work which enables them to understand the significance of working in a group and also help them to realize the aspects and importance of teamwork in utilizing the theoretical knowledge to practical.

Students are also encouraged to participate in national and international level technical competitions like SAE BAJA, Aero JC in which students have performed well and won many prizes.

The students also organize events such as MECHMERIZE, in which cultural and technical events are conducted.
