Dr.M. Mahadevaswamy obtained bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from University of Mysore, Mysore, in 1982 securing first class with distinction. He joined S.J. College of Engineering, Mysore during 1983 as a Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering. He obtained his Masters degree in Civil-Environmental Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, in 1988. Currently, he is working as Professor in the Department of Environmental Engineering. Dr. M. Mahadevaswamy got his Ph.D. degree in Engineering (Environmental and Bio-Chemical Engineering area) from Indian Institute of Technology,Roorkee, during 1998.   After the Ph.D. degree award he has been invited for postdoctoral position by the external examiner from Technical University of Berlin, Germany. One of the technical papers related to his Ph.D. degree has been published and awarded a gold medal for the same from the Institution of Engineers (India), Calcutta.  The research findings  of mine have lead to more research in the area of Industrial Wastewater Treatment.  Further, I continued my Ph.D. research work area  in our institute by getting R&D funds from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, during 1999-2001.  As on date I have completed five R & D project in the area of  Environmental Engineering by getting financial assistance from various governmental Agencies such as University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi, India; Ministry of Environment and Forests (MOEF), Government of India, New Delhi, India; All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi,; Technical Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP), Govt. of Karnataka, Karnataka, India and Karnataka State Council for Science & Technology, Govt. of Karnataka, Bangalore. Dr. M. Mahadevaswamy has been actively involved in the institutional development, preparation of new R&D Project Proposals and Institution Consultancy and for conducting National Seminars, etc.  I have also been invited by many institutions for delivering guest lectures in the National and International Conferences & Seminars.  Further, I guided 35 M.Tech. students in his area of interest.  Presently, I am guiding 5 Ph.D./ M.Sc. Engg., by Research candidates and also Co-ordinated many continuing education programme for field professionals conducted in our institute.  I have been invited to Chair Technical Sessions in the ISTE National Convention held  at Kumaraguru  College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. I have also reviewed technical Papers in the International Conference on “Environmental Bio-technology: Advancement on Water and Wastewater Applications in Tropics”, held at University Technology, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia ;  also reviewed the technical papers in the International Conference on “Securing Groundwater Quality in Urban and Industrial Environment, conducted by Land and Water, Centre for Life Sciences, Fremantle, Perth, Western Australia.
