STARTUP – SPIRIT

SJCE Alumni Association and Department of Placement & Training in association with CII – Yi organized an event “STARTUP SPIRIT – 2018” on September 15, 2018 as a mark of Engineers Day Celebration.

The event was inaugurated by Prof. B G Sangameshwara, Vice Chancellor, JSS Science and Technology University and Dr. T.N. Nagabhushan, Principal presided over the program. The event was coordinated and organized by Dr. B S Harish, Coordinator, SJCE Alumni Association and Prof. M Pradeep, Placement Officer of SJCE, Mysuru. The speakers including SJCE Alumni entrepreneurs Mr. Amith Roushan, Founder Play – o, Mr. Kamal Deo Prasad, Founder PanOrbit and representatives from CII Yi Ms. Chaitra Bharath, Founder Phoenix Academy and Dr. Chaitra Narayan, Founder Codagu Agritech addressed the young minds of SJCE and students of other college across Mysuru. The event was attended by more than 100 students who are willing to start up their own venture after their graduation.

The Vice Chancellor during his address stressed on the changing scenario in the young minds to start up the ventures. He also highlighted how important is to take up challenges when students are young. In this regard, he highlighted the various facilities and support rendered by the university to start up their venture. He also stressed upon giving lot of support and encouragement to become an entrepreneurs. Further, Dr. T N Nagabhushan highlighted on the various funds and opportunities provided by the government to support the Startups. Later the speakers deliberated their experiences and challenges they encountered in starting their own startup. Insisted and stressed to follow 4 P’s (Product, Price, Place and Promotion) during their start of new venture. Further, the speakers also highlighted to expand the circle of people in the interested project. They suggested to breakdown the requirements into plans and insisted the students to always prepare for failures, setbacks and mentally be stable to accept the new challenges. One of the speakers stressed to convert the time into values, which will stay forever. The program was very interactive and students were much involved in deliberations. The program was concluded with Vote of Thanks.
